MacBook Pro (13-Inch, Mid 2012)

For those of you who viewed this listing before, it is back up for sale again. The original sale fell through. Up for sale is a factory-sealed Mid 2012 MacBook Pro (MD101LL/A).

This is the last MacBook Pro with the full complement of ports, an optical drive, and actual upgradability. The storage, RAM, optical drive, and even the bluetooth card can all be upgraded. All of that upgradability naturally means convenient repairability.

Those same components, plus the battery, are easily replaced. The optical drive can also be either upgraded or replaced with a second hard drive or SSD. And unlike earlier models, both of the internal SATA connectors here are 6Gb/s. You could even use them with two modern SSDs for a lightning fast RAID setup.

Also unlike earlier models, the USB ports are high-speed 3.0 ports, not 2.0 ports. This generation of MacBook Pro also has a normal scissor switch keyboard (no problematic butterfly design), which is easily the best that Apple has put in a modern Mac. The screen glass is also far more durable than what appears on the post-Unibody models. Simply put, this is the way they should be making them now, but sadly aren't. If you have any questions about the computer, please feel free to ask.

Offers are welcome and will be considered. I will be 100% responsible for the computer for the duration of the sale. If they do not, I will just cancel the sale.

As such, the picture on the factory box shows the OS X El Capitan desktop. I have listed the specifications as accurately as possible, but just in case, here are the links for two webpages that list the correct specs in detail. If that is the intent, I would recommend upgrading the 500GB 5400-rpm hard drive to an SSD of any size (128GB minimum would be smart). Those old 5400-rpm drives are disastrous performance bottlenecks for modern Macs. I would also recommend upgrading the 4GB of 1600MHz DDR3 memory to 8GB of 1600MHz DDR3 memory or 16GB of 1600MHz DDR3 memory.

However, I cannot and will not guarantee anything except that the computer is in the condition as described (sealed in the factory box). This also means that there is a chance that the battery will not hold a charge. Lithium ion batteries are resilient and long-lived, so it probably would hold a charge, but I cannot guarantee it.

That is why this is generally intended to be more of a collector's item than anything else. But deciding whether or not to open it will be up to you. If you don't open it, enjoy owning a solid investment. If you do open it, upgrades for RAM and storage are widely available and a new batteries are easy to procure and straightforward to replace should the necessity arise.

It's all up to you! As always, to help you combat scams/scammers, I kindly inform you that this item is only for sale on here. If you should see it anywhere else, don't fall for it.
